The opportunity

As an Application Penetration Tester at Cynance, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, spanning across a variety of industries from industrial sector, tech companies, cryptocurrencies, to space and aviation. You will have the opportunity to continuously improve your pentesting toolset and have the flexibility to continue your own self-development to additional areas of cybersecurity consulting.

Our team is encouraged to contribute to the info-sec community by way of creating whitepapers, presentations, thought leadership, and attendance at various security conferences. In return, we ask that you demonstrate a positive and professional attitude and a genuine appetite to learn and build great relationships with clients with their needs in mind.

How your day will look like?

Using a variety of application security testing techniques, both manual and automatic, to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.

Deliver high quality security assessments, according to predefined scope, and time, meeting clients’ expectations.

Working independently on your assignment with a supervision of a project manager, and support from your colleagues and senior security professionals.

Share knowledge with your colleagues and assist with the mentoring of junior team members.

Develop our internal testing methodologies, solutions, and help to reshape our services to fit better the requirements of the market.

Provide market and technical insights through the publication of social media posts, blogs, and whitepapers to assist in developing your own and Cynance public profile.

The skills of a successful candidate

We value not only your ability to undertake the role’s technical aspects, but more importantly, your genuine passion for Security Testing.

Open-minded analytical approach to performing security testing, considering manual and automated machine learning techniques.

Manual penetration testing and an understanding of IP Networking in a security context.

Flexibility to cross-skill and engage in other security domains such as Cyber Threat Management, Identity and Access Management, Cyber Transformation, Business Resilience and Data Loss Prevention and Privacy.

Excellent technical presentation and reporting skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to communicate detailed technical information to a non-technical audience clearly.

Self-motivated, able to work towards strict deadlines, prioritise workload and deliver under pressure to agreed timescales and deadlines.

Open to traveling to visit clients up to 70% of the time.

Experience of tools such as Nessus, burp, nmap, kali linux suite, metasploit, wireshark, ZAP etc.
